In brief:Exmoor ponies, Berkshire pigs, Hebridean sheep and British white Cattle on wood pasture, valley mire and lowland heath. Burnham Beeches is heavily used by the public and crossed by roads. There are long term plans to close some of these roads, enlarge areas of grazed habitats and link it to other important sites . The City of London have recently taken on the management of the nearby Stoke Common, lowland heathland grazed with cattle supplied by a local farmer.
