In brief:Mix of wetlands, reedbeds, acid and neutral grasslands, lowland heathland, arable reversion to heath and mixed woodlands with a visitor centre and café. Land is managed with grazier cattle and in hand Konik and Dartmoor Ponies. There is also a sizeable population of Red Deer. The reserve is part of a bigger landscape owned by several organisations.
