The Grazing Advice Partnership is a partnership of farmers, land managers and conservation organisations that are committed to promoting the benefits of grazing with the natural environment and our cultural heritage in mind.
The current investing partnership was formed in August 2008 and comprises Natural England, the National Trust, Defence Estates and the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
GAP was initially set up as the Grazing Animals Project in 1997 with an emphasis on supporting local grazing schemes. Since then there have been major changes in agriculture with the majority of farmers now signed up to agri-environment schemes and a consequent demand for nationwide information and advice. The new Grazing Advice Partnership aims to become a first point of contact for information and advice on conservation grazing with the natural environment and our cultural heritage in mind.
